On home ice in 2025, that pressure is ramped up. But they wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It makes people either strive or fold,” Barrie’s Beau Akey (EDM) said. “Every single one of these guys in the room thrive under pressure and I think they’re big pressure players.”
“To have pressure it motivates you,” added Medicine Hat’s Gavin McKenna (2026). “You have the whole country watching you.”
“Not every kid gets to be in the position we’re going to be in and being on home ice for Team Canada,” Brampton’s Porter Martone (2025) said. “We have to take that and use it as an opportunity.”
Canada is back in action tonight when they face Czechia in the quarterfinals.
