Close behind, the Everett Silvertips (36-6-2-1) climbed back into the top three and up to No. 2 after a flawless 3-0-0-0 showing pushed their streak to four straight wins, continuing a model of consistency that has seen Everett rank among the CHL’s top three in 13 of the last 14 weeks while leading the league in wins (36) and points percentage (.833). Rounding out the top tier, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens (32-7-3-2) slid to No. 3 after a split week that featured a 9-3 win over Val-d’Or and a narrow 3-2 setback to Moncton, though they remain atop the QMJHL with 32 wins and a .784 points percentage and have now held a top-three spot for five consecutive weeks.
Further down the list, Week 18 was defined by upward momentum from three surging clubs, led by the Moncton Wildcats (32-8-2-1), who climbed to a season-best No. 5 after a perfect 3-0-0-0 road swing that included a statement 3-2 win in Chicoutimi and extended their winning streak to four as they closed within two points of first in the QMJHL. In the OHL, the Ottawa 67’s (34-9-1-2) jumped a couple of spots to No. 6 after a pair of home wins pushed their streak to six and kept them tied atop the league standings. CHL Top-10 Rankings – Week 18
1. Prince Albert Raiders (WHL): Having extended their winning streak to seven games with a perfect 4-0-0-0 week, the Prince Albert Raiders (35-6-4-0) have surged into the No. 1 spot of the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the first time this season, punctuating their rise with four straight wins by a commanding 26-6 aggregate score. The run began with a statement 12-2 home victory over the Victoria Royals, continued on the road with wins over the Moose Jaw Warriors (3-2 SO) and Swift Current Broncos (6-1), and wrapped up back on home ice with a 5-1 triumph over the No. 8-ranked Medicine Hat Tigers—marking their second win over one of the WHL’s hottest clubs in the past two weeks. Dating back to December 6, Prince Albert has been among the CHL’s most dominant teams, going 18-2-0-0 over its last 20 outings, with 35 wins and a .822 points percentage (trailing only No. 2-ranked Everett in both wins and points percentage) while matching the fewest regulation losses in the CHL with six. Driving the Raiders’ recent surge, Dallas Stars prospect Brandon Gorzynski (22G-29A in 42 GP) earned Tempo WHL Player of the Week, Fuelled by Co-op, after totaling four goals (including a game-winner) and three assists for seven points, part of a breakout season that has him at 51 points and a +20 rating in 42 games split between Prince Albert and Calgary. Gorzynski was joined atop the weekly leaderboard by Aiden Oiring (4G-3A) and captain Justice Christensen (1G-6A), as the Raiders now head back to Moose Jaw before a weekend home-and-home with the Saskatoon Blades.
Games this week: @ Moose Jaw (Jan. 27), vs. Saskatoon (Jan. 31), @ Saskatoon (Feb. 1)
2. Everett Silvertips (WHL): Riding a four-game winning streak that was fueled by a perfect 3-0-0-0 showing over the last week, the Everett Silvertips (36-6-2-1) have climbed back into the CHL Top-10’s top three and up into second, continuing a season-long run of consistency that has seen them rank among the CHL’s top-three clubs in 13 of the last 14 weeks. No team in the CHL boasts more wins (36), a higher points percentage (.833), or fewer regulation losses (six) than Everett, which kept rolling at Angel of the Winds Arena with home victories over the Kelowna Rockets (5-3), Brandon Wheat Kings (4-1), and Seattle Thunderbirds (3-2). During the three-win week, Detroit Red Wings prospect Carter Bear (18G-20A in 31 GP) and Finnish rookie Matias Vanhanen (10G-43A in 39 GP) paced the Silvertips with four points apiece, with Bear extending his point streak to four games and maintaining a torrid stretch in which he’s been held off the scoresheet just twice in his last 16 outings (14G-12A since Nov. 16) while scoring in 10 of those contests. Vanhanen has also produced in four straight games and been blanked only twice in his last 12 contests, as he continues to sit among the CHL’s elite playmakers with 43 assists (third in the CHL) while ranking third among WHL rookies with 53 points. Everett will look to keep the streak alive on the road in Spokane and Seattle before returning home to host the Tri-City Americans on Sunday.
Games this week: @ Spokane (Jan. 30), @ Seattle (Jan. 31), vs. Tri-City (Feb. 1)
3. Chicoutimi Saguenéens (QMJHL): After splitting their two games last week, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens (32-7-3-2) slid a couple of spots into No. 3 in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings, though they remain one of just three teams across the CHL to have held a Top-10 position all season and have now stayed among the top three for five straight weeks. Chicoutimi opened the weekend in emphatic fashion with a 9-3 home win over the Val-d’Or Foreurs, but couldn’t complete the sweep the next day at the Georges-Vézina Centre, dropping a tight 3-2 decision to the No. 5-ranked Moncton Wildcats—just their second regulation loss in their last 20 games dating back to Nov. 30 (16-2-2-0) as they’ve earned points in 18 of those outings. Still, the Saguenéens continue to pace the QMJHL with 32 wins and a .784 points percentage. 19-year-old forward Nathan Lecompte (23G-29A in 42 GP) drove their offence with five goals and one assist across the two games, including a four-goal performance against Val-d’Or, earning QMJHL Videotron Player of the Week honours and setting new single-season career highs in both goals (23) and points (52). Chicoutimi will look to get back in the win column Sunday when they host the Shawinigan Cataractes in their lone game of the week.
Games this week: vs. Shawinigan (Feb. 1)
4. Brantford Bulldogs (OHL): Having collected five of a possible six points over the past week, the Brantford Bulldogs (32-7-6-1) hold steady at No. 4 in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings, extending their point streak to nine games (7-0-2-0) as they’ve won seven times over that span. Brantford opened the week with a 5-4 overtime loss on the road to the North Bay Battalion before responding with a 5-4 overtime win over the Sudbury Wolves and a statement 7-1 victory against the No. 10-ranked Barrie Colts that snapped Barrie’s eight-game winning streak. The Bulldogs’ surge has them tied atop the OHL standings with the No. 6-ranked Ottawa 67’s, with both clubs sitting on 71 points and a .772 points percentage, while Brantford remains the CHL’s lone team to rank among the top five in the CHL Top 10 every week this season. Leading the charge, Seattle Kraken prospect and Bulldogs captain Jake O’Brien (16G-41A in 32 GP) was named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week for the second time in 2025-26 after pacing all scorers with nine points (4G-5A) across the three games, highlighted by a four-point (2G-2A) performance versus Barrie as he pushed his point streak to six games. O’Brien’s 1.78 points-per-game leads the OHL, and his 41 assists are tops in the league. Chicago Blackhawks prospect Marek Vanacker (34G-23A in 39 GP) and Dallas Stars prospect Charlie Paquette (23G-26A in 45 GP) provided additional punch with six points apiece (4G-2A), with Vanacker now sitting one goal shy of the CHL lead. Brantford will look to keep rolling this week as they host the Owen Sound Attack and a surging Soo Greyhounds club at the TD Civic Centre.
Games this week: vs. Owen Sound (Jan. 30), vs. Soo (Feb. 1)
5. Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL): Riding a four-game winning streak that was fueled by a perfect 3-0-0-0 week, the Moncton Wildcats (32-8-2-1) have climbed to a season-best No. 5 in the CHL Top-10 Rankings after an impressive road swing that featured victories over Baie-Comeau (4-1), No. 3-ranked Chicoutimi (3-2), and Québec (6-2). The win in Chicoutimi served as payback after the Wildcats had dropped an earlier matchup against the Saguenéens at home just over a week prior, and it further underscored Moncton’s torrid run since the beginning of November, where they’ve gone 26-4-0-1 over their last 31 games with just four regulation losses—firmly placing them among the CHL’s hottest teams. With 32 wins now tied for the most in the QMJHL alongside Chicoutimi, the Wildcats sit just two points back of the Saguenéens for top spot in the league standings, driven in large part by Detroit Red Wings prospect Rudy Guimond, who turned aside 31 shots in Chicoutimi and 21 more in Québec City to improve to 27-5-1-1 on the season. Guimond’s 27 wins lead all CHL goaltenders, while his 2.35 goals-against average (6th) and .921 save percentage (4th) also rank among the CHL’s best. Up front, Kuzma Voronin (18G-25A in 42 GP) paced the Wildcats with a team-high five points and multi-point efforts against Baie-Comeau and Québec, while Utah Mammoth prospects Gabe Smith (20G-29A in 39 GP) and Caleb Desnoyers (10G-23A in 24 GP) each recorded two goals and two assists on the week. Desnoyers has been held off the scoresheet just twice in 17 games since Nov. 19 (9G-20A), while Smith has produced in 14 of his last 16 since Dec. 17 (12G-14A). Moncton will aim to keep rolling this week as they return home for a three-game stand at the Avenir Centre against Saint John, Baie-Comeau, and Newfoundland.
Games this week: vs. Saint John (Jan. 30), vs. Baie-Comeau (Jan. 31), vs. Newfoundland (Feb. 1)
6. Ottawa 67’s (OHL): Fueled by a pair of home-ice wins that pushed their winning streak to six straight, the Ottawa 67’s (34-9-1-2) have climbed a couple of spots to No. 6 in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings. Ottawa earned back-to-back victories at TD Place, edging the Oshawa Generals 4-3 on Saturday before pitching a 6-0 shutout against the Saginaw Spirit the next day, continuing a surge that has them tied atop the OHL standings with the No. 4-ranked Brantford Bulldogs at 71 points through 46 games. The 67’s 34 wins are the most in the OHL and the third-most in the CHL, trailing only the No. 2-ranked Everett Silvertips (36) and No. 1-ranked Prince Albert Raiders (35). Offensively, 18-year-old Spencer Bowes (12G-12A in 45 GP) led Ottawa with four points (1G-3A) across the two games and is riding a three-game run of multi-point outings (7 points; 2G-5A). Meanwhile, Finnish forward Jasper Kuhta (23G-19A in 40 GP) stayed red-hot by extending his point streak to 10 games (8G-6A), highlighted by a two-goal showing versus Oshawa. Top 2026 NHL Draft prospect Thomas Vandenberg (17G-17A in 37 GP) also kept producing, extending his point streak to seven games with points in both wins and goals in three of his last four outings. Ottawa will now look to keep rolling during its eight-game homestand when it hosts the Peterborough Petes and Sudbury Wolves this weekend.
Games this week: vs. Peterborough (Jan. 30), vs. Sudbury (Feb. 1)
7. Penticton Vees (WHL): Amid a CHL-best 14-game winning streak, the Penticton Vees (29-9-4-3) have climbed for a third straight week to seventh in the CHL Top-10 Rankings, continuing a surge that has them playing like one of the hottest clubs in the league. The Vees extended their run in emphatic fashion over the past week, posting back-to-back shutouts with a 6-0 road win over the Spokane Chiefs and a 5-0 blanking of the 2026 Memorial Cup host Kelowna Rockets before returning home to top the Red Deer Rebels 5-3, outscoring their opponents 16-3 across the three victories. Dating back to December 1, Penticton has earned points in 19 of its last 20 games (18-1-1-0), suffering just one regulation loss in that span. Their crease has been a key driver, highlighted by Ethan McCallum, who was named Mary Brown’s Chicken WHL Goaltender of the Week after a perfect week capped by a 26-save shutout in Kelowna. It was Penticton’s second straight shutout following Andrew Reyelts’ 19-save clean sheet against Spokane. Since arriving from Saskatoon in early December, McCallum is 8-1-0-0 with a 1.88 GAA, .935 save percentage, and two shutouts, and hasn’t lost in regulation since Dec. 14, 2025. Up front, New York Islanders prospect Jacob Kvasnicka (26G-34A in 43 GP) continued to drive offence with a team-high five points, including three goals, and has erupted for 27 points (13G-14A) during the 14-game streak since Dec. 13 – making him the WHL’s top-scoring rookie over that stretch. The Vees will look to keep rolling this week as they host the Kamloops Blazers and Portland Winterhawks at the South Okanagan Events Centre before heading to Seattle to face the Thunderbirds on Sunday.
Games this week: vs. Kamloops (Jan. 30), vs. Portland (Jan. 31), @ Seattle (Feb. 1)
8. Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL): After dropping two of their last three games and collecting three of a possible six points over the past week, the Medicine Hat Tigers (32-8-3-3) have slid a few spots to eighth in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings – marking the first time since they entered the top 10 six weeks ago that they’ve moved down. Medicine Hat opened the week with a 4-3 home win over the Calgary Hitmen before falling in a pair of road tests, first in a 3-2 shootout decision to the Saskatoon Blades and then 5-1 against the No. 1-ranked Prince Albert Raiders. Despite the dip, the Tigers’ loss to Prince Albert represents just their second regulation defeat in their last 27 games dating back to November 8 (22-2-2-1), with both regulation setbacks in that span coming against the Raiders, who also jumped ahead of Medicine Hat in the WHL’s Eastern Conference standings this week. Offensively, the Tigers remain the CHL’s most potent attack, leading the league with 218 goals and a CHL-best 4.74 goals per game. Calgary Flames prospect Andrew Basha (5G-11A in 10 GP) continued to spark their scoring with a team-high four points (2G-2A) across the three outings. Since returning to Medicine Hat after spending the first half of the season with the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers, Basha has produced in nine of 10 games, scored a goal in five of them, and posted four multi-point performances. The Tigers will now look to get back in the win column at Co-op Place this week when they host the Saskatoon Blades and Lethbridge Hurricanes.
Games this week: vs. Saskatoon (Jan. 27), vs. Lethbridge (Jan. 31)
9. Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL): Having split their two games over the last week, the Edmonton Oil Kings (31-9-3-2) have tumbled down to ninth in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings, matching their lowest position of the 2025-26 campaign and marking their first time at No. 9 since Week 6 (Oct. 28). Despite the slide, Edmonton remains one of the CHL’s most consistent clubs, having ranked inside the Top 10 all season long—one of just three teams to do so, and the lone WHL side to hold that distinction—while continuing to stack results with seven wins in their last 10 games (7-2-0-1) and points in eight of those outings. The Oil Kings stumbled at home in a 4-3 loss to the Regina Pats before responding with a convincing 5-1 win over the Saskatoon Blades at Rogers Place, driven by defenceman Ethan MacKenzie (13G-26A in 37 GP), who led the way with four points (3G-1A) across the two games. Since returning to the lineup after helping Canada capture bronze at the 2026 World Juniors, MacKenzie has been a difference-maker with eight points (4G-4A) in seven games. Edmonton will now look to build on Sunday’s response and keep that momentum rolling as they open a four-game road trip this week with stops in Calgary, Moose Jaw, and Swift Current.
Games this week: @ Calgary (Jan. 28), @ Moose Jaw (Jan. 30), @ Swift Current (Jan. 31)
10. Barrie Colts (OHL): After winning two of three games over the past week, the Barrie Colts (30-11-2-4) hold steady at No. 10 in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings, continuing a strong run in which they’ve earned points in nine of their last 10 outings (8-1-1-0). Barrie opened the week with back-to-back home victories over the Niagara IceDogs (5-3) and Brampton Steelheads (2-0) to extend their winning streak to eight games, before seeing that streak snapped on the road in a 7-1 loss to the No. 4-ranked Brantford Bulldogs. Even with the setback, the Colts remain in control atop the OHL’s Central Division with a 16-point cushion, while sitting five points back of the OHL-leading Bulldogs and Ottawa 67’s (both at 71 points) and firmly within striking distance in the OHL’s Eastern Conference. Offensively, Utah Mammoth prospect Cole Beaudoin (18G-37A in 34 GP), New York Islanders prospect Kashawn Aitcheson (22G-22A in 36 GP), Dallas Stars prospect Emil Hemming (15G-24A in 26 GP), and defenceman Parker von Richter (7G-25A in 47 GP) each posted four points across the three games, with Beaudoin producing in seven of his last nine since returning from the 2026 World Juniors, Hemming scoring in five of his last seven, and Aitcheson seeing an eight-game point streak end in Brantford. Meanwhile, von Richter has quickly found his footing since arriving from Brampton, recording seven points (3G-4A) in nine games as a Colt. Barrie will look to keep its Top-10 spot this weekend when it heads south of the border for road games against the Flint Firebirds and Saginaw Spirit.
Games this week: @ Flint (Jan. 30), @ Saginaw (Jan. 31)
