CHL to NHL: Attack alumnus Samanski debuts with Oilers
Former Owen Sound Attack forward Joshua Samanski made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers Monday night.
In a 7-4 win over Anaheim, Samanski played 7:43 and was a +2 rating.
A native of Erding, Germany, Samanski played 54 games with the Attack in 2019-20 where he had four goals and 20 points. He also represented Germany twice at the World Juniors (2021/2022).
Before this season, the 23-year-old had spent his pro career in his native Germany where he had made 193 appearances in the DEL (Deutsche Eishockey Liga) with the Straubing Tigers.
In April 2025, Samanski signed a two-year deal with the Oilers. Ahead of NHL debut, he had amassed 28 points (seven goals) in 39 games with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors.
