The Spirit dominated with a five-goal first period, including goals from Calgary Flames prospect Zayne Parekh and 2024 OHL first-round pick Dimian Zhilkin. Saginaw kept the pressure on, adding three more to seal an 8-1 win. Zhilkin netted a pair, while Joey Willis had a goal and an assist, extending his point streak to four games. Jeremy Martin scored the Firebirds’ only goal in the third period, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Saginaw’s offensive explosion.
