Ryan MacDonald named OHL Player of the Week

The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Guelph Storm goaltender Ryan MacDonald is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday December 18 after giving up just one goal in two starts last week.

MacDonald started the week with a 29-save performance that backed the Storm to a 3-1 win over the Owen Sound Attack on December 14. He followed up with a 25-save shutout that helped Guelph to a 5-0 win over the Saginaw Spirit on December 18.

MacDonald, a 20-year-old native of Chelsey, Ontario, is second behind Dan LaCosta of the Barrie Colts for the league lead with a 2.27 goals against average. He also has an 18-8-0-2 record, a .916 save percentage and three shutouts in 29 games this season.
