Neal named OHL Player of the Week

The Ontario Hockey League today announced that James Neal of the Plymouth Whalers is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday December 11 after scoring a goal and five assists for six points in two games.

Neal scored a goal and two assists and was the first star in Plymouth’s 6-3 win over the Sarnia Sting on December 8 and then assisted on three goals in their 6-3 win over the Owen Sound Attack on December 12.

The 18-year-old native of Whitby has 11 goals and 24 assists for 35 points in 30 games this season. The two win week helped the Plymouth Whalers move into a tie with the Saginaw Spirit for first place in the OHL’s West Division.
