Wolves appoint David Goyette captain for 2023-24
The Sudbury Wolves surprised their home fans on Friday night at their home opener, introducing high-scoring Seattle Kraken prospect David Goyette as their captain for the 2023-24 season.
Goyette, 19, comes off 92 points (41-51–92) across 63 games in 2022-23 after potting an impressive 73 (33-40–73) as a rookie in 2021-22. He was selected by Seattle in the second-round of the 2022 NHL Draft and signed an entry-level deal with the Kraken on April 10, 2023.
Goyette opened his season with four assists as the Wolves defeated the Brantford Bulldogs by a score of 6-2 on Friday. Ethan Larmand and Andre Anania wore A’s for the Wolves on opening night.
