- On his 17th birthday, Zayne Parekh scored his 19th and 20th goals of the season in the final three minutes of the third period, passing London Knights defenceman Rick Corriveau’s 1987-88 OHL record for goals by a 16-year-old rookie defenceman
- Parekh finished the game with two goals and an assist while fellow rearguard Mitchell Smith had a goal and two helpers
- Spirit rookie Bode Stewart scored his first career OHL goal
- New York Islanders prospect Tristan Lennox made 29 saves for the win
- The win is Saginaw’s first on the road of 2023, ending a run of five straight road losses
