1ST STAR: CONNOR McMICHAEL (LONDON KNIGHTS):
2019 NHL Draft prospect Connor McMichael recorded a career-high four points as the London Knights won their 15th straight game, defeating the visiting Kingston Frontenacs 8-1. McMichael scored twice and added two assists, giving him 31 points (19-12–31) over 27 games this season and points in six straight contests. The 17-year-old from Ajax, Ont. is in his second OHL season after joining the Knights midway through 2017-18. The former first round (11th overall) pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection is a graduate of the Ajax-Pickering Raiders Minor Midgets.
2ND STAR: DAVID LEVIN (SUDBURY WOLVES):
David Levin extended his point streak to four games, guiding the Sudbury Wolves to their fifth straight win with a goal and two assists in a 5-1 triumph over visiting Barrie. Levin’s second straight three-point effort saw him score his 14th goal of the season for the game winner before setting up Macauley Carson and Quinton Byfield for goals of their own. The 19-year-old North York, Ont. native has 30 points (14-16–30) over 28 games in this, his fourth OHL season. The former first overall pick of the 2015 OHL Priority Selection is a graduate of the Don Mills Flyers Minor Midget program. He attended rookie camp with the Carolina Hurricanes this past September.
3RD STAR: FRANCO SPROVIERO (SARNIA STING):
Overage forward Franco Sproviero scored and added two assists as the Sarnia Sting won for the seventh time in the past 10 games, defeating the visiting Windsor Spitfires by a score of 5-1. Sarnia’s second win over Windsor in as many nights saw Sproviero pick up assists on goals by Curtis Egert and Calvin Martin before he gave the Sting a 4-0 lead with his 12th goal of the season. The 20-year-old local product is in his third full season with the Sting and has 28 points (12-16–28) in as many games. Sproviero now has multi-point efforts in three of the last four games. He was Sarnia’s eighth round pick back in 2014 from the Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Midgets.
