- Flint Firebirds goaltender Jacob Brown made his season debut in Sunday’s contest
- Flint’s Max Anderson scored his first career OHL goal in the first period to put the Firebirds up 2-0 after an opening goal from Jimmy Lombardi
- Sarnia’s Easton Wainwright would respond later in the period with the first of his two goals to cut the deficit to one
- Daylen Moses tied the game up for the Sting with his first goal of the season in the first minute of the second period
- The Firebirds followed that up just 90 seconds later as Jimmy Lombardi and New York Rangers prospect Nathan Aspinall scored to restore their two goal lead
- Flint Firebirds rookie Cole Zurawski also scored his first career OHL goal as Flint went up 5-3
- Sarnia didn’t back down as they opened the third period with two straight goals from Ryan Brown
- The Sting followed this up with a third unanswered goal from Alessandro Di Iorio which stood as the game-winner

- NHL Draft prospect Michael Misa entered this game on a six game point streak but being held goalless for the first time in the previous game
- This game remained scoreless until halfway through the second period when Michael Misa netted his 11th goal of the season and extended his point streak to seven games
- The Greyhounds responded with a late goal in the second from Brady Martin followed up by a goal from Justin Cloutier midway through the third to grab the lead
- Saginaw didn’t stay down for long as just 63 seconds later Calem Mangone snuck one past Charlie Schenkel to tie the game at 2-2
- Carson Andrew scored the game-winning goal with just 1:54 left in the game assisted by Travis Hayes
- Charlie Schenkel made 31 saves to record his second straight win
