Steelheads add third overager in Petes forward Chase Lefebvre
The Brampton Steelheads filled out their third overage spot on the roster Friday afternoon, acquiring former OHL champion Chase Lefebvre from the Peterborough Petes. Brampton sent Peterborough a conditional 11th round pick in 2028.
An overage centreman from Kapuskasing, Ont., Lefebvre has nine points (2-7–9) through 13 games this season. The 6-foot-3, 180Ib. third-year veteran has collected 21 goals, 55 assists and 55 points over 129 career regular season games in maroon and white after being a 15th round (295th overall) pick in 2020.
“On behalf of the Petes organization, I’d like to thank Chase for everything he’s done during his time with the team,” noted Petes Vice President and General Manager Mike Oke. “From being a 15th round pick in 2020 to winning an OHL Championship in 2023, Chase has shown a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication to the team over his time as a Pete. He will always be a Champion in the city of Peterborough.”
Lefebvre joins a 9-10-1-0 Steelheads club that has faced some injury challenges of late with forwards Angus MacDonell and Lucas Karmiris sidelined. Blueliners Stevie Leskovar, Spencer Sova, Parker von Richter and Luke Dragusica have also been out of the lineup.
