Greyhounds name Brady Martin captain, announce leadership group
Earlier today, the Soo Greyhounds announced their leadership group for the 2025-26 OHL season, naming their captain and three alternate captains.
Brady Martin – Captain: Entering his third year, the veteran power forward is fresh off making his NHL debut with the Nashville Predators after being selected fifth overall in June. He’s coming off a career-best season with the Hounds, recording 72 points (33G, 39A) in 57 regular-season games. Martin was also the recipient of the team’s “Permanent Electric Three Star Award” and shared the “Regular Season MVP” honour.

Chase Reid – Alternate Captain: Now in his sophomore season, the standout blueliner made his OHL debut last year and quickly emerged as one of the league’s most intriguing defencemen. Entering his NHL draft year, Reid will look to build on his impressive rookie campaign, where he posted 40 points (7G, 33A) and earned the team’s “Rookie of the Year” award.

Travis Hayes – Alternate Captain: Entering his third year, the Michigan native participated in his first NHL training camp with the Pittsburgh Penguins, who selected him in the fourth round of last June’s draft. A reliable veteran forward, Hayes has appeared in 136 regular-season games with the Greyhounds, tallying 93 points (40G, 53A). He was recognized as the team’s “Unsung Hero” at the conclusion of last season.
Marco Mignosa – Alternate Captain: Now in his fifth year, the overage forward is coming off a career-best season, recording 85 points (36G, 49A) in just 58 regular-season games. Mignosa was awarded the team’s “Top Scorer” honour and shared the “Regular Season MVP” award. This past summer, he was selected in the seventh round of the NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning and attended his first NHL training camp.
