Saturday Highlights: Lardis and Willis shine with four-point nights

Brampton Steelheads 3 at Brantford Bulldogs 5

In this back-and-forth thriller the Steelheads took an early 2-0 lead in the first period, but Cole Brown and Patrick Thomas answered right back for the Bulldogs scoring two and sending the game into the second period tied at two.
Nick Lardis scored a natural hat-trick during his four point effort to seal the deal for the bulldogs. This included his 100th OHL goal.
Bulldogs forwards Jake O’Brien (3A) and Patrick Thomas (1G 2A) also contributed heavily with three point nights.

Sarnia Sting 3 at Saginaw Spirit 9

Saginaw started strong with four early goals from Jacob Cloutier, Joey Willis, Zayne Parekh, and Nic Sima – giving them a commanding lead.
The Sting got themselves back in the game during the second period with rookie Beckham Edwards scoring two, plus a third from Mitch Young.
Joey Willis scored three during a 4 point effort, securing his second hat-trick and 9th goal in his last 3 games.

London Knights 4 at Guelph Storm 0

Easton Cowan extended his point streak to 51 regular season games, scoring one early in the first period to open the games scoring – this proved to be the game-winning goal in this shutout win.
Three more goals from Noah Read, Denver Barkey, and Oliver Bonk extended the Knights’ lead.
Knights goaltender Austin Elliot had a perfect game, turning away 27 shots for his first OHL shutout.
The win is London’s 11th in a row, improving the Knights to 15-4-0-0.

Erie Otters 1 at Flint Firebirds 2

Firebirds captain Connor Clattenburg scored the go-ahead goal in the second period, and the Firebirds held this lead until the final buzzer.
Dylan Edwards opened the scoring for Erie, but Matthew Wang tied it back up for Flint shortly after.
Flint goaltender Nathan Day made 26 saves on 27 shots in the win.

Oshawa Generals 4 at Barrie Colts 6

The Colts came out on top during this back-and-forth battle with the game-winning goal coming from Cole Beaudoin midway through the third frame.
David Svozil scored his first career OHL goal to get the Generals on the board in the first period.
Carter Lowe scored two goals and an assist in the big Colts win.
Colts goaltender Sam Hillebrandt made 29 saves on 33 shots, and earned himself the Real Canadian Superstore Save of the Night with his solid performance.
