OHL Power Rankings: Mar. 17, 2025
All set for the final week of the regular season! Here’s the Week 25 edition of OHL Power Rankings.
Who’s up:
Windsor Spitfires – up two spots to #4 this week
The Spits are up two following a 3-1 week, capped-off by an 8-5 victory over the London Knights on Sunday. Windsor’s lone blemish came against Saginaw on Saturday, surrendering a late lead to lose 6-5 in a shootout. Washington Capitals prospect Ilya Protas is a 50-goal scorer, entering the final week of the regular season tied with Spitfires teammate Liam Greentree with 119 points for second-most in the league. The West Division champs take on Sarnia and London in their final two matchups.
Owen Sound Attack – up two spots to #11 this week
The Bears beat Flint and Guelph before losing 3-2 to the Kitchener Rangers at the Bayshore on Saturday night. Owen Sound is battling for a playoff berth, currently tied with Sarnia for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference. Their remaining schedule includes games against Barrie, Kitchener and Guelph.
Soo Greyhounds – up two spots to #13 this week
The Hounds had a big week – defeating both Sarnia and Flint to stay in the thick of things as they, Sarnia and Owen Sound battle it out for the remaining playoff spots in the Western Conference. Top scorer Marco Mignosa is up to 80 points (36-44–80) on the season while draft eligible forward Brady Martin has reached the 30-goal mark in his sophomore season.
Ottawa 67’s – up one spot to #16 this week
The Barber Poles are back in the top-16 following a 3-2 win over Oshawa at home on Friday before grabbing a point against Kingston on Sunday as they lost 3-2 with three seconds remaining in overtime. Ottawa still has playoff aspirations, trailing North Bay by two points for the final spot in the East. Ottawa faces Niagara, Erie and Brantford on the road to close out the regular season.
Who’s down:
Oshawa Generals – down two spots to #6 this week
The Gennies put on a real good showing Sunday night, limiting the Sudbury Wolves to 15 shots on goal. Losses against unranked opponents have consequences when you’re in the top-five though, especially at this late point in the season. Oshawa dropped a 3-2 decision in Ottawa on Friday night. The Generals look to head into the playoffs with momentum, visiting North Bay and Sudbury before ending the season at home against rival Peterborough on Sunday night.
Flint Firebirds – down three spots to #14 this week
It was a week to forget for the Birds, who missed out on a couple opportunities to clinch a playoff spot. Flint lost by 6-3 outcomes to both Owen Sound and Sault Ste. Marie. They try and solidify their trip to the playoffs with a big four-game week to close-out the season.
North Bay Battalion – down one spot to #15 this week
The Battalion weren’t able to create much separation between themselves and the Ottawa 67’s, losing all three games last week. They came up short against Brantford before losing 6-0 in Kitchener and falling 5-4 in overtime to the Barrie Colts at home on Sunday.
Peterborough Petes – down one spot and off the list this week
The Petes are outside the power rankings following three straight losses, falling to Brampton, Kingston and Sudbury. Officially out of the playoffs this year, the Petes will try and finish the season strong against Kingston, Brampton and Oshawa the rest of the way.
