Today, we shift the spotlight to the Buffalo Sabres and their OHL pipeline. 

David Bedkowski (D) – Oshawa Generals (2022-25), Owen Sound Attack (2024-25)
Selected: 3rd Round, 71st Overall (2025)

Age: 18

With their second selection in the 2025 NHL Draft, the Sabres selected right-shot defenceman David Bedkowski of the Owen Sound Attack. Acquired by Owen Sound in a blockbuster deal with the Oshawa Generals, the 6-foot-5 blueliner has established himself as a physical, shutdown presence on the back end. He uses his size and reach to close gaps, steer attackers wide, and break up plays through sound positioning. With a blend of mobility and defensive reliability, Bedkowski adds a steady and imposing element to Buffalo’s blue-line pipeline.

Ryerson Leenders (G) – Mississauga Steelheads (2022-24), Brantford Bulldogs (2024-25)
Selected: 7th Round, 219th Overall (2024)
OHL Career Stats: 129 GP, 3.21 GAA, .903 SV%, 67-46-10-0
Age: 19

Leenders joined the Brantford Bulldogs ahead of the 2024-25 season and quickly established himself as a top performer in the crease. He was named OHL Goaltender of the Week four times and earned Goaltender of the Month honours once, finishing the season with a .903 save percentage – fifth best in the league. He elevated his game in the playoffs, posting a 2.71 GAA and a .911 SV%, both of which ranked among the top three in the OHL.

Ty Tullio (RW) – Oshawa Generals (2018-22)
Acquired: July 5, 2024
OHL Career Stats: 187 GP, 84 G, 110 A, 194 PTS, -14
Age: 23

Acquired by the Sabres in a trade last offseason that brought both Ty Tullio and former Steelheads and Spirit forward Ryan McLeod to Buffalo, Tullio spent his 2024-25 campaign continuing to develop in the AHL. He began the season with the Rochester Americans, recording 7 points (1-6–7) and 30 penalty minutes over 30 regular-season games. In March, he was loaned to the Calgary Wranglers, where he added 8 points (2-6–8) in 13 contests.
