OHL Friday Night Faceoff: Sarnia at London
The 2026-27 OHL season is finally here, and with it comes the return of Friday Night Faceoff for its second season! In partnership with FloHockey, YourTV, Rogers tv and Eastlink Community TV, all 20 OHL clubs will be featured at least twice on the initial schedule, with games available live and free across FloHockey’s Youtube channel.
The OHL Friday Night Faceoff spotlight shifts to Canada Life Place this week, as the London Knights welcome the Sarnia Sting for one of eight Rivalry Week matchups taking place across the league. The two Western Conference opponents will meet for the second time in three days after opening their season series on Wednesday. Fans can catch the action live and free on FloHockey’s YouTube channel, with puck drop set for 7:00 p.m.
London enters Friday with plenty of momentum following a perfect 3-0 weekend that improved its record to 7-1-0-0. The Knights have been one of the league’s strongest teams to open the 2026-27 campaign, recently handing the red-hot Sudbury Wolves their first regulation loss of the season. Their strong play also earned them a sweep of the OHL’s weekly skater honours, with Marcus Nordmark named Player of the Week and Cooper McAslan taking home Rookie of the Week honours.
Offensively, the Knights have had no shortage of contributors, with four players already reaching double digits in points through their first eight games. With four first-round selections from the 2026 NHL Draft on their roster, London has plenty of talent throughout its lineup and will look to keep rolling as Rivalry Week continues.
Sarnia, meanwhile, will be looking to turn things around after a tough stretch that saw the club drop all three games last week, allowing 21 goals while scoring eight. The Sting sit at 5-6-1-0 through 12 games but have shown they can generate plenty of offence, with several players finding success early in the season.
Despite the recent setbacks, forwards Easton Walos and Logan Hawery have continued to produce offensively, leading the Sting in both scoring and assists, respectively. Sarnia will be looking for that production to translate into wins as it prepares to face a London team that has lost just once this season.
Special teams could also be a deciding factor on Friday, with Sarnia boasting the league’s second-ranked power play at 34.5%. With London’s penalty kill currently sitting 19th in the OHL, the Sting will have an opportunity to make the most of their chances with the man advantage.
Players to Watch:
London Knights
- Marcus Nordmark (F) – Acquired early in the season, Nordmark has made an immediate impact in London, earning OHL Player of the Week honours after recording six points (2-4–6), including four primary assists, over three games last weekend. The 2026 Anaheim Ducks first-rounder also converted in the shootout against Kitchener, helping the Knights complete their perfect weekend.
- Cohen Bidgood (F) – Now in his third season with the Knights, Bidgood has taken on a leading role offensively, pacing the club with 12 points (6-6–12) through eight games. With six goals already on the season, he’ll look to continue his strong start against a Sarnia team hoping to tighten things up defensively.
Sarnia Sting
- Logan Hawery (F) – Hawery has been one of the league’s most consistent playmakers to open the season, leading the OHL with 13 assists through 12 games. Currently riding a six-game point streak, the Sting forward has registered at least one assist in 10 of his first 12 appearances, including five over the weekend.
- Easton Walos (F) – The second-year forward has been a bright spot for Sarnia, leading the club with 16 points (10-6–16) through 12 games. Walos has been especially dangerous around the net recently, scoring seven goals over his last six appearances as he looks to keep his scoring touch going against London.
