North Bay enters the weekend fifth in the Eastern Conference with 65 points and sits on the verge of clinching a playoff spot. The Battalion have leaned on a balanced offensive group and steady goaltending throughout the season.
Captain Ethan Procyszyn leads North Bay in both goals and points, recording 24 goals and 46 points. The Anaheim Ducks prospect continues to pace the Battalion in all situations. Nick Wellenreiter, known for his shootout success, sits second on the team with 18 goals and 43 points.
Minnesota Wild prospect Lirim Amidovski has produced a career-high 21 goals and 38 points, while deadline additions Sebastien Gervais and Kaden Pitre have added depth after arriving from Saginaw and Flint. Draft-eligible forward Ryder Cali remains one of the top 2026 NHL Draft prospects in the OHL, posting 12 goals and 26 points this season.
In goal, Jack Lisson has been one of the league’s breakout stories. Lisson carries a 20-9-1-1 record along with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.
Sudbury currently holds the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with 48 points, nine clear of Brampton. While the Wolves trail seventh-place Kingston by nine points, they have earned several strong results recently.
Los Angeles Kings prospect Jan Chovan leads Sudbury with 21 goals and 43 points. New York Rangers defenceman Artem Gonchar sits just behind him with 12 goals and 42 points, providing steady production from the back end.
Since being acquired from Windsor, 2026 NHL Draft eligible forward JC Lemieux has added 20 goals and 36 points, while fellow 2026 prospect Adam Nemec has made an immediate impact with nine goals and 24 points in just 20 games.
Bjorn Bronas has started the majority of games for Sudbury, posting an 11-7-1-0 record with a .899 save percentage and a 3.43 goals-against average.
Sudbury is fresh off a 6-5 overtime win over Flint and a 5-2 victory over Ottawa earlier this month, results that underscore how difficult the Wolves can be to handle at home. With playoff positioning tightening and Northern pride on the line, Friday’s meeting adds another chapter to one of the OHL’s most familiar rivalries.
