North Bay Battalion sign 2025 5th Round Pick Lincoln Edwards
NORTH BAY, Ont. — The North Bay Battalion has signed left winger Lincoln Edwards to an education and development agreement, the Ontario Hockey League club announced Thursday.
Edwards, who turned 16 on Sept. 12, was a fifth-round pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection from the Don Mills Flyers U16s, with whom he scored 44 goals and earned 56 assists for 100 points in 74 games last season.
“We’re thrilled to officially sign Lincoln,” said general manager John Winstanley.
“He’s a young player with tremendous upside, and our staff has seen real growth in his game since we drafted him in April. He competes, he listens and he’s hungry to get better. We’re looking forward to helping him take those next steps with us.”
Edwards has played four games with the Troops this season, scoring one goal and adding one assist for two points. He was recalled from the junior A King Rebellion to play Sunday in a 2-1 overtime loss to the host Niagara IceDogs.
King acquired him in recent days from the Cobourg Cougars, fellow members of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, with whom he scored eight goals and earned nine assists for 17 points in 20 games.
While Edwards is to play primarily for King during the rest of its season, he was expected to dress for the Battalion against the visiting Brampton Steelheads on Thursday night.
