JACOB LEGUERRIER (SAULT STE. MARIE GREYHOUNDS):
Third-year Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds defenceman Jacob LeGuerrier scored in his 127th career regular season game on Wednesday, helping his team defeat the visiting Flint Firebirds 7-2. The 18-year-old product of Gloucester, Ont. teamed up with overage teammate Keeghan Howdeshell on a nice passing play before beating Flint’s Emanuel Vella from down the wing off the rush. LeGuerrier has six points (1-5–6) over 30 games with the Hounds this season after helping the club win a Western Conference title last spring. He was Sault Ste. Marie’s eighth round pick in 2016 from the Gloucester Rangers Midget AAA team.
