Knights sign Islanders prospect Jesse Nurmi
The London Knights have announced today that the club has signed 2005 born Finnish forward Jesse Nurmi to an OHL Scholarship & Development Agreement.
Nurmi was picked by the Knights in the CHL Import Draft on July 3rd with their first round selection and will now join the reigning OHL champions for the 2024-25 season.
A native of Valkeala, Finland, Nurmi was a fourth round selection of the New York Islanders in the 2023 NHL Draft and signed his entry level contract in June. Nurmi spent a shortened season with KooKoo of Liiga in 2023-24 splitting time with the U20 club. Nurmi will be of a part of Finland’s squad in the World Junior Summer Showcase and face off against his new Canadian Knights teammates next week in Plymouth, Michigan.
