Frontenacs acquire defenceman Jack Brauti from the IceDogs
The Kingston Frontenacs have acquired veteran defenceman Jack Brauti from the Niagara IceDogs in exchange for three draft picks. The deal includes conditional fifth-round selections from Oshawa (2027) and Kingston (2029), along with Kingston’s 10th-round pick in 2029 heading to Niagara.
A former sixth-round selection of the Barrie Colts, Brauti helped carry the backend for the IceDogs in 2024-25, making a first-round playoff appearance while setting career 46 points (8-38—46) across 64 games. Brauti was a part of an offseason trade last summer that sent him from the Colts to the IceDogs. The Thornhill, ON native has participated in both Toronto Maple Leafs and Seattle Kraken development camps as a free agent.
“Jack is a very good puck mover and skater who defends hard.” said GM Kory Cooper. “He has proven himself to be a solid player at the OHL level and we’re happy to have him continue his career here in Kingston.”
The smooth-skating defenceman took a significant step in his game last season in Niagara, earning increased ice time and a regular role on special teams. Now with the Frontenacs, he will look to help build on the team’s success from last season, when they pushed their second-round series to a game seven against Barrie. Over his OHL career, he has appeared in 126 games, recording 67 points (17-50—67) along with 107 penalty minutes.
