From the O to the Pros: OHL Alumni Weekly Round-Up (Feb. 12, 2026)
The Ontario Hockey League continues to produce standouts at the professional level, with alumni making headlines across the NHL and AHL. From milestone moments to first career goals, OHL grads continue to shape the hockey landscape every week. Here’s a look at the top alumni stories from the past seven days.
Feature Stories of the Week (NHL)
While the NHL is currently on the Olympic break, men’s hockey at the Milano Cortina Games began on February 11, featuring 41 OHL graduates on opening rosters. The tournament also marks the return of NHL players to Olympic competition for the first time in 12 years.
Connor McDavid (Erie Otters)
Making his Olympic debut for Team Canada, McDavid recorded three assists in the opener as Canada blanked Czechia 5-0.

Dalibor Dvorsky (Sudbury Wolves)
Dalibor Dvorsky, the youngest OHL alumnus competing at the Olympics, posted two points (1-1–2) in Slovakia’s opening‑day upset of Finland, including the game‑winning goal. With that tally, he became the youngest Slovak player to score at an Olympic Winter Games featuring NHL players, as well as the second‑youngest player on an NHL‑represented team to record a game‑winning goal at the Olympics.

Feature Stories of the Week (AHL)
Avery Hayes (Hamilton Bulldogs/Peterborough Petes)
Hayes was named AHL Player of the Week for the period ending February 8, 2026, after scoring four goals in two games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He also made a memorable NHL debut during the week.
Hayes sparked a 4-1 victory over Hershey on Wednesday, scoring the go-ahead goal with 12:05 remaining in regulation. The following night, he was recalled by Pittsburgh and became just the seventh player in NHL history to score twice in the first period of his debut. Returning to Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, he recorded his first professional hat trick, capped by the overtime winner.

Logan Morrison (Hamilton Bulldogs/Ottawa 67’s)
Morrison was named the AHL Third Star on February 7 after tallying two goals and two assists. He currently leads the Firebirds in scoring with 46 points (23-23–46).

Nick Lardis (Peterborough Petes/Hamilton/Brantford Bulldogs)
Ranked third among AHL rookies in goals, Lardis was selected to participate in the AHL All-Star Game. He opened the scoring for Team Central and later found the back of the net in the shootout.
