OHL Post-Secondary Weekly Round-Up – Feb. 11, 2026
This season, 241 OHL alumni are suiting up across U SPORTS and NCAA hockey programs. Each week, we’ll highlight standout performances and rising storylines from both leagues. Here’s a look at the top moments from the past week of action.
Feature Stories of the Week (U-SPORTS)
Tai York – Badgers Athelte of the Week
Continuing his strong play from last week, Tai York (Barrie) posted a goal and an assist in a key 4-3 overtime win against the Western Mustangs on Wednesday night. He followed that up with two goals and an assist in Friday’s 5-1 victory over the Waterloo Warriors, bringing his total to eight points (3-5–8) over his last five games.
Markas Samenas – Lakers Athlete of the Week
Markas Samenas (Flint) recorded two goals and an assist across two games last weekend, including the overtime winner on Feb. 7 vs. UQTR. He now has 13 points (8‑5–13) through 25 games this season for the Lakers.
Chase Lefebvre – TMU Athlete of the Week
Chase Lefebvre (Peterborough, Brampton) tallied three points (1‑2–3), including the game‑winning goal, in TMU’s 6-3 win over York.

Sam Hillebrandt – Big Ten First Star of the Week
Sam Hillebrandt (Barrie) backstopped Ohio State to a pair of road wins over Minnesota, helping the Buckeyes clinch the season series. He turned aside 47 of 50 shots for a .940 save percentage and a 1.50 goals‑against average. This marks his second Big Ten Star of the Week honour this season.
Donovan McCoy – Hockey East Top Performer
Donovan McCoy (Peterborough, Sudbury) notched three points – tied for the most among all Hockey East defensemen last week. He picked up an assist Friday at UNH before adding a shorthanded goal and another assist in Saturday’s 6-1 win over Vermont. He finished the weekend with a +5 rating and six blocked shots.
Oliver Peer – CCHA Forward of the Week
Oliver Peer (Windsor, Flint) led all CCHA skaters with six points (3‑3–6) last week while helping Bemidji State earn a home split with Ferris State. He was involved in all three Beavers’ goals in Friday’s 6-3 loss before adding two goals and an assist in Saturday’s 4-3 overtime win, including setting up the game‑winner. He also dominated the faceoff circle, winning 64.1% (25-of-39) of his draws.

- Ian Lemieux (Barrie, Kingston) – Tallied two points (1‑1–2) and was named the Carr‑Harris Classic MVP.
- Patrick Lever (Oshawa, Guelph) – Made a career‑high 55 saves in a 3-2 shootout victory.
- Reid Valade (Kitchener) – Currently leads USPORTS in goals (25) and sits third in points (44) through 28 games this season.
- Nolan Dann (Sarnia, Niagara, Flint) – Continues to lead the OUA in scoring with 36 points (12-24–36) in 23 games this season.
- Keegan McMullen (Peterborough, Soo) – Sits second in OUA goal scoring with 18 goals in 26 games.
- Zach Roy (Hamilton) – Holds the top save percentage in the OUA at .930.
- Austin Elliott (London) – Stopped 21 shots in Friday’s 3-1 win over No. 19 Massachusetts.
- Ethan Burroughs (Owen Sound) – Scored twice, including the game‑winner, in a 6-1 road win at Boston College.
- Matteo Drobac (Brantford) – Earned a NCHC Goaltender of the Week nomination after splitting a series with No. 4 Western Michigan, making 50 total saves.
- Jake Karabela (Guelph) – Scored in back‑to‑back games, including the game‑winner, as Ohio State completed a sweep at Minnesota.
- Nate Krawchuk (Sudbury) – Named ECAC First Star of the Night on Feb. 6 after making 44 saves (.936 SV%) in RPI’s win over Clarkson.
- Noah Morneau (Windsor) – Currently leads the CCHA in faceoff win percentage (62.3%).
