Liam Greentree scores 300th point in the OHL
Windsor Spitfires forward Liam Greentree reached a major career milestone on Friday night, recording his 300th career point in the Ontario Hockey League.
Greentree becomes the 21st player over the past 20 seasons to reach the 300 point mark, joining a group that includes names such as John Tavares, Dylan Strome, Nick Suzuki, and Mitch Marner.
The Windsor native has spent his entire OHL career with the Spitfires and is just the third player in franchise history to record 300 points, joining current Spitfires general manager Bill Bowler (467) and former Spitfires defenceman Ryan Ellis (313).
Through 226 career OHL games, Greentree has recorded 300 points, consisting of 134 goals and 166 assists. He currently leads all active OHL players in career goals and points and is one of only three active players in the league with 100 or more career goals and 100 or more career assists.
Since the 2015-16 season, Greentree ranks among the league leaders in total points, trailing only a small group of recent OHL standouts.
Most OHL points since 2015-16:
- Nick Suzuki, 328
- Austen Keating, 325
- Jason Robertson, 317
- Joseph Garreffa, 315
- Akil Thomas, 315
- Morgan Frost, 310
- Liam Greentree, 301
Greentree’s milestone comes during a week that also saw him traded at the NHL level, moving from the Los Angeles Kings to the New York Rangers in a deal involving Artemi Panarin.
A consistent offensive producer throughout his OHL career, Greentree has been a key part of the Spitfires lineup and now adds his name to a short list of players to reach the 300 point plateau over the past two decades.
