Firebirds sign free agent defenceman Nasean Faria

FLINT – The Flint Firebirds announced on Wednesday that the team has signed free agent defenseman Nasean Faria to a Standard Player Agreement.

“It feels amazing to sign with Flint,” Faria said. “I have been thinking about this moment for so long. I am ecstatic to get going.”

A native of Scarborough, Ontario, Faria spent the last two seasons in the United States playing for Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire. In the 2025-26 season, he recorded 10 goals and 12 assists in 35 games. 

Before Kimball Union Academy, Faria played for the Toronto Marlboros and Toronto Jr. Canadiens AAA programs in the GTHL. He attended the Firebirds 2026 Training Camp as a free agent invitee.

“Nasean came in and surprised everyone with his willingness to compete and ability to cover a lot of real estate on the ice with his smooth skating and agility. He is rarely caught out of position, but has the quickness to recover. He is willing to activate to add support or provide another option off the rush.”
