Brzustewicz and Hayes named to USA Hockey’s 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup Camp roster
Two OHL players have been named to USA Hockey’s 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup Camp roster. The Hlinka Gretzky Cup Camp will place July 26-30, 2024 at in St. Paul, Minnesota.
2024 OHL champion Henry Brzustewicz will look to earn a spot on USA Hockey’s blueline. The 17-year-old London Knights defenceman showcased his talents this season, tallying six points (2-4-6) in 52 regular season appearances, along with three points (2-1-3) in 16 playoff contests, helping the Knights captured the J. Ross Robertson Cup. The Washington, MI. native was selected in the first round, 22nd overall of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the North Jersey Avalanche U16 AAA program.
Also attending USA Hockey’s 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup Camp, Travis Hayes of the Soo Greyhounds is looking to make his mark on the international stage. The rookie from Westland, MI. found success with the Hounds this season, registering 14 goals, 21 assists and 35 points in 58 regular season games played. The 16-year-old was selected in the second round, 25th overall by the Soo in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Compuware 15U AAA program.
Those chosen from the Hlinka Camp will play for the 2024 U.S. Under-18 Select Team during the tournament, August 5-10, 2024 in Edmonton, Alberta.
