Milestone Moments: Dec. 16/17
Saturday’s action featured a first OHL shutout and a first OHL goal as Erie’s Anand Oberoi and London’s Shane Collins both made appearances in OHL Milestone Moments.
ANAND OBEROI (ERIE OTTERS):
First-year netminder Anand Oberoi made 28 saves to record his first OHL shutout, blanking the visiting North Bay Battalion 3-0. An 18-year-old from Kanata, Ont., Oberoi has appeared in 14 games with the Otters this season, going 4-6-2-0. He was originally the club’s 12th round pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
SHANE COLLINS (LONDON KNIGHTS):
Overage defender Shane Collins scored five career WHL goals over the past three seasons with the Prince George Cougars, but the Rosetown, Sask. native got his first in the OHL on Friday as the London Knights defeated the visiting Mississauga Steelheads 3-1. Collins crept in off the point to score the eventual game-winning goal 7:13 into the second period. The 20-year-old was acquired from the Barrie Colts earlier this season after they claimed him off waivers.
