Liam Ladds commits to Petes
Peterborough Petes General Manager Michael Oke announced today that the Petes have signed 2023 fifth round OHL Priority Selection pick Liam Ladds to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Ladds, an Ilderton, ON native, was selected in the fifth round, 88th overall by the Petes in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection in April. The 6’1” defenceman played in 31 games for the Elgin Middlesex Canucks U16 last season, scoring 6 goals and adding 6 assists for 12 points. Ladds also featured in five games for the St. Marys Lincolns of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.
“I’m very excited to be a Pete,” exclaimed Ladds. “I’m honoured to be apart of an organization with such a great history and I can’t wait to get started.”
“We’re excited to add Liam to the team,” noted Petes General Manager Michael Oke. “He is a big defenceman who moves well and plays strong in his own end. We think very highly of Liam and we’re looking forward to aiding him in his development moving forward.”
Ladds is the third player to sign with the Petes from the 2023 Priority Selection. In May, the Petes signed first round pick Carson Cameron, and in July fourth round pick Joseph Cadorin committed to the team.
