Kraken prospect Eduard Sale commits to Colts

The Barrie Colts are excited to announce 2023 NHL 1st Round Selection, Eduard Šalé has committed! Šalé has signed an OHL Scholarship & Development Agreement.

Eduard Šalé (pronounced Sha-lay) was selected by the Seattle Kraken in the 2023 NHL Draft with the 20th Overall Selection. Šalé was previously drafted by the Colts in the 2022 CHL Import Draft 29th Overall.  

“When we drafted Eduard originally, we knew it would take some time before he would come to North America. It’s always exciting as a Coach to add a player of his calibre to our lineup. Our entire coaching staff is looking forward to welcoming him to Barrie and helping him continue his development here.” Commented Head Coach & GM, Marty Williamson.

Šalé represented the Czechia U20 World Junior Team last season where he registered 6 Points (1 Goal, 5 Assists) in 7 tournament games where he would go on to earn a silver medal. He spent the 2022-23 season playing for HC Kometa Brno in the Czech Extraliga where he compiled 14 Points (7 Goals, 7 Assists) in 43 Games.
