Triple Header Home Game Week!
The Sudbury Wolves will play three home games in five days beginning Wednesday night when the Wolves host the Soo Greyhounds at 7 pm. On Friday night, the Wolves host the North Bay Battalion at 7:00 pm and on Sunday, the Wolves will host Dylan Strome and the Erie Otters at 2:00 pm.
The game versus the Greyhounds is game #3 of the BELL Challenge Cup as the six-game season series is tied 1-1. The Hounds are coming-off of a big 4-2 victory over the Flint Firebirds. The Sudbury Wolves welcome back first-round selection David Levin to the Wolves’ roster.
On Friday, the Wolves will play host to their nearest division rivals the North Bay Battalion. The Battalion and Wolves are also playing their third game of a eight-game season series. The season series is also tied 1-1. Battalion Coach Stan Butler stated that Wolves’ 16-year-old goaltender Jake McGrath was “lucky” in the Wolves first win of the season over the Battalion. North Bay is coming off of a big 5-3 win over the first-place Barrie Colts. “LUCKY” will be the theme of Friday’s game as it is sponsored by Reliance Home Comfort and one “LUCKY” fan will win a ‘team autographed’ Wolves’ game jersey.
On Sunday, Wolves fans will have a chance to see two of the most exciting forwards in the CHL in Dylan Strome and Alex Debrincat. Debrincat is on pace for 60+ goals this season as the smallish forward is tearing-up the OHL in scoring. Strome is expected to play in the NHL next season after being drafted third-overall by the Arizona Coyotes. Toronto Maple Leafs’ 2nd round draft selection Travis Dermott is also on the Otters roster. Erie are the defending Western Conference Champions and remain as the #1 ranked team in the CHL. The Wolves defeated the Otters 2-0 in their only meeting of the season. All youngsters 12 and under, accompanied by an adult, receive admission for only $7. Sunday’s game is sponsored by CAA and they will awarding $500 in CAA dollars to one lucky Wolves’ fan! 1,000 lucky fans will also receive a FOAM PUCK courtesy of CAA.
