Luca Blonda

A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Blonda split his minor hockey development between the Soo Greyhounds AAA program and the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 15U AAA program. He enjoyed significant success with the Soo Greyhounds AAA alongside Wolves teammate Cole Wreggitt, playing a major role in back-to-back NOHL championships at the U14 and U15 levels. In his final minor hockey season (2023-24) with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 15’s, Blonda led all defensemen on the team with 18 goals and 33 assists for 51 points in 60 games.

Selected 12th overall in the first round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection, Blonda played the 2024-25 as a true rookie. In 65 games, the rookie blueliner recorded five goals and 10 assists for 15 points, ranking 7th in points and tied for 2nd in goals among rookie blueliners. Heading into his sophomore season with the Wolves, Blonda looks to build on his rookie success and continue as a key contributor on Sudbury’s blueline.
