Wolves Support Camp Quality with 3rd Annual Superhero Jersey Game
(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) – The Sudbury Wolves will don special Superhero themed jersey for the third season in a row in support of local children’s charities. Saturday February 17th when the Wolves host the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:05pm, the Wolves will wear HULK themed jerseys which will be auctioned off throughout the game with proceeds going to CAMP QUALITY Northern Ontario. A select number of the jerseys will also be available online after the game for bid at www.auction.chl.ca. The jerseys were unveiled at a media conference on Tuesday hosted at the St. Louis Bar and Grill, the games’ Annual Game Night Sponsor.
“We are thankful to the Sudbury Wolves for hosting Superhero Jersey Day in support of Camp Quality Northern Ontario,” said Dan DeNoble, volunteer and event organizer with Camp Quality Northern Ontario. “The support we receive from our local community is vital in the programs we are able to offer Northern children. This July we expect to bring 70 plus childhood Superhero’s affected by cancer, from across Northern Ontario, to our camp for a week of fun, laughter, and memories. Our goal is a week where these kids can leave their worries behind and just be kids in a safe, welcoming environment. Every bid in the auction Saturday will go a long way in helping us reach our goal this summer.”
SKATER’S EDGE will be the Wolves Den on the Lower Concourse selling a limited number of Superhero t-shirts with $5 from every t-shirt sold going towards the charity. Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favourite Superhero as St. Louis will be awarding lucky fans in the first intermission Superhero costume contest. Kids 12 and under who dress up will also be granted admission for only $12. Superhero Kids and adults alike should stop by the lobby early to get their face painted for the game!
The Sudbury Wolves were the first team in the Canadian Hockey League to wear superhero themed jerseys during the 2015-16. “We were pumped to work with a volunteer group like Camp Quality as the benefactor of the third annual Superhero jersey game,” said Andrew Dale, VP of Marketing & Development, Sudbury Wolves. “The Hulk theme is a fun aggressive way to add a unique element of fun and variety to the season schedule that fans can enjoy. Our players have worked very hard competing all year, contributing when their schedule allows in the community and we know they get excited for these games!”
Saturday’s game wraps up a double-header weekend for the Wolfpack as they host the Oshawa Generals on Friday at 7:05pm.
Tickets are on-sale now for both games at the Sudbury Arena Box Office, by calling 705-671-3000 or online at greatersudbury.ca/tickets. Great seats are available this weekend but seating for Sunday’s Superhero game is becoming more difficult.
