Wolves Lose Family Member
The Burgess Family and the Sudbury Wolves organization are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a dear friend – Fabio Belli. The Burgess Family and the Sudbury Wolves would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the Belli family.
Councillor Belli was a proud supporter of the Sudbury Wolves. Councillor Belli and his family provided a billet home for the last three years to Wolves’ forward Mathew Campagna. Councillor Belli also operated the Wolves’ souvenir shop at the Sudbury Arena at Wolves’ home games on behalf of Skater’s Edge. Councillor Belli has been a strong advocate for the building of a new sports and entertainment facility for the City of Greater Sudbury.
“We lost a personal friend and a very good friend of the Sudbury Wolves” notes Wolves’ President Blaine Smith. “Fabio was very passionate about the Sudbury Wolves and OHL hockey in the North. It is because of people like Fabio that OHL hockey continues to thrive in Greater Sudbury. Smith adds, “Fabio was like the “king of kensington” at our home games as he socialized with fans, players, parents, billets, sponsors, season ticket holders and citizens. Fabio was a good friend to many and he will be dearly missed by everyone associated with the Sudbury Wolves.”
Councillor Belli did a great deal for the Sudbury community. As a City Councillor, Fabio gave his time and efforts for the benefit of others and didn’t hesitate to reach into his own pocket to support those in need. “I don’t believe any of us truly know what Councillor Belli did for this community because a lot of his contributions were never announced and went unrecognized” adds Smith. “But, that was Fabio…a kind heart and a good person. He will be truly missed.”
