Leading up to the 2014 Orientation Camp on May 31st, get to know the next generation of Wolves players drafted in the 2014 Priority Selection. Check back on our web site every week to learn more about the 16 young gentlemen who will be looking to start their careers with the Sudbury Wolves.
MICHAEL PEZZETTA
In the first round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection the Wolves were looking to add size, skill and the will to compete. With that in mind, Wolves’ management was excited to pick MICHAEL PEZZETTA as the 11th overall pick in the first round. Pezzetta is a big bodied forward with an exceptionally high compete level. He’s a two-way player that finishes hits and wins battles in all three zones. He has been described as being very hard to play against, at 200 pounds he moves well and he causes turnovers with his aggressive forechecking. Sudbury Wolves Head Scout Andrew Shaw agrees. He sees Pezzetta as a power forward with excellent skills. “He’s very physical and is a strong leader”.

Q: What are you working on to prepare for the upcoming OHL season and how are you working on it?
A: In order to prepare for the upcoming OHL season I am going to the gym 6 days a week and I have on ice training 3 days a week. I will be working on strengthening my hockey skills and getting stronger and faster to be prepared for the next level.
Q: Which NHL player do you model yourself after and why?
A: I believe I play a similar game as Milan Lucic. He is a strong power forward who likes to throw his weight around, he also has an offensive upside.
Q: How would you describe your personality?
A: I’m hard working, driven and focused but at the same time I like to have fun. I’m strong academically and I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Q: What do you like to do in your down time?
A: In my down time I like to relax and enjoy time with my family and friends. I enjoy fishing, playing tennis and biking.
