Guelph Storm to assist on McHappy Day
The Guelph Storm are proud to assist local McDonald’s locations for the 30th annual McHappy Day in support of Ronald McDonald House of South Central Ontario and KidsAbility. In thirty years, McHappy Day has raised over 92 million dollars. Last year $60,000 was raised in Guelph on McHappy Day alone.
Ronald McDonald House offers sick children and their families a space of warmth and comfort during times of need, often lessening the burden of travel for families. KidsAbility is a local organization that provides life-changing therapy and essential programs to help children of every ability reach their milestones and potential.
The impact of Ronald McDonald House across our communities is far-reaching. Today, 1 in 4 Canadians has either stayed at Ronald McDonald House or know someone who has. In an average year, Ronald McDonald House helps to keep more than 26,000 families from over 3,400 Canadian communities close to their children and the medical care they need. Yet the new continues to grow. Today Ronald McDonald House locations across Canada are unable to support 4 out of 5 families who need support due to lack of space.

About McDonald’s Canada
In 1954, an enterprising salesman named Ray Kroc discovered a small burger restaurant in California and wrote the first page of McDonald’s history. In 1967, the first McDonald’s Canada opened in Richmond, B.C. We’ve been growing with our communities and serving quality food at great value ever since. Today, McDonald’s Canada is proud to be one of the world’s leading food service retailers. From coast to coast, we serve delicious choices to more than 2.5 million people in over 1,400 locations daily. We’re also more than just your local restaurant. We’re hardworking small-business men and women, students working part-time, seniors getting the most out of life, and volunteers lending time to make a difference in the communities we live and work in.
