Storm Duo Selected In NHL Draft
Sunday afternoon in Raleigh, North Carolina, Ryan Callahan and Danny Taylor were among 42 OHL players drafted in the two day annual NHL Entry Draft.
Callahan, entering his third season with the Storm, was selected by the New York Rangers in the 4th round with the 127th pick overall. In 127 career OHL regular season games, the native of Rochester, New York, has tallied 50 goals and 49 assists for 99 points. Last season, Callahan finished 4th on the team (tied for 11th in the OHL) in goals with 36. During the playoffs, Callahan tied with teammate Brett Trudell for the league lead in goals with 13.
Taylor, was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the 7th round (221st overall) on the second day of the draft. During his rookie season with the Storm, the native of Ottawa, established Storm rookie records for wins (16) and GAA (2.71).
The two Storm players become the 41st and 42nd Storm players drafted by NHL teams in the club’s 13-year history.
