Storm Selects Pair of Czech Forwards
The Guelph Storm selected forwards Jaromir Florian and Jan Bula in the 2004 CHL Import Draft on Wednesday. The two 17 year-olds are from the Czech Republic.
During the past two seasons, Jaromir Florian played for Brno in the Czech Extraleague Midget Division. In 80 games, the 5-11, 175 lb forward picked up 37 goals and 29 assists for 66 points. Florian also added 110 penalty minutes and a +10 plus/minus rating. Last season, Jaromir racked up a point per game with 40 points (24 goals and 16 assists) in 40 games. In 8 games with the Brno Junior Club, Florian collected 2 assists. Florian also played 7 games for the Czech Republic Under-17 team without any points. Florian is eliglible for the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Jan Bula also played in the Czech Extraleague Midget Division for the past two seasons. The 5-10, 178 lb forward collected 21 goals and 29 assists for 50 points in 63 games with Zlin. Last season, Bula notched 17 goals and 24 assists for 41 points in 44 games. Bula is also eligible for the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
