Spitfires Acquire Brett Harrison from the Oshawa Generals in exchange for draft picks
WINDSOR, ON.
The Windsor Spitfires have acquired forward Brett Harrison in exchange for draft picks OSH 2nd in 2023, OSH 2nd in 2024, BAR 3rd in 2024, SUD 3rd in 2025, WSR 3rd in 2026 and WSR 5th in 2026.
Harrison is a native of Dorchester, Ontario and was drafted in round one (16th overall) by the Oshawa Generals in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. Harrison was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the third round (85th overall) in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
Harrison is in his fourth season in the OHL (one season not played due to covid). In his rookie year with the Generals, Harrison appeared in 58 games while recording 21 goals and 16 assists for 37 points. In his sophomore season, Harrison played in 65 games and recorded career highs in goals with 27, assists with 34 and a total of 61 points enroute to being drafted by the NHL’s Boston Bruins. So far this season, Harrison has scored 16 times and collected 17 assists for 31 points in 27 games.
Bill Bowler spoke on the acquisition of Harrison.
“Brett is an elite veteran player. Brett is a prolific scorer that will help our team on both sides of the puck.”
Harrison spoke on the deal.
“It feels unbelievable, I am really excited to get down to Windsor.” Harrison said. “I look forward to helping the team go on another run and getting over the hump and win the championship.”
Harrison will be met with some familiar faces in Maggio and Smith, he skated with them over the last summer as well as McLlwain who he went to school with.
Harrison will wear the number 44.
