The Storm traveled to Owen Sound on Saturday to take on the Attack for the second night in a row. The Storm won the first game of the home and home series defeating the Attack 3-2 on Friday night at the Sleeman Centre.
The Attack jumped on the Storm early scoring four unanswered goals in the first to take a four goal lead heading into the first intermission. The Attack held the Storm off the scoresheet and stifled their offense as the Storm managed just six shots in the first. Brandon Foote rested after his impressive 41 save performance on Friday night while rookie Matej Machovsky got the start.
It was all Attack again in the second as Jarrod Maidens and Brendan Childerley would score for the home team leading to their four goal lead in the second. Rookie Garrett Sparks replaced fellow first year goaltender Matej Machovsky who started the game. With Childerley’s goal in the second, the 18 year old recorded his first hattrick of the season.
The Storm finally got on the scoresheet in third as Matt Sisca tallied on a breakaway just 54 seconds into the final frame. That was all the Storm would muster however, as the Attack buried two more off goals from Liam Heelis and Bobby Mignardi. The Attack would take the two points with an 8-1 final.
