Petes fare well in AHL
Three Petes players saw their AHL seasons come to an end on the weekend, while one player (although currently injured) is heading for the Post Season and the Calder Cup playoffs.
Derek Mathers played in 9 games with the Philadelphia Flyers affiliate Adirondack Phantoms. Mathers failed to record a point, but registered 26 penalty minutes including three fighting majors that hockey websites are reporting all as wins. In the 9 games Mathers was a -2 +/- rating.
Matt Puempel played in 9 games with the Ottawa Senators affiliate Binghampton Senators recording a goal with a +1 +/- rating and 2 penalty minutes.
Alan Quine (pictured) played in 3 games with the Detroit Redwings affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins recording an assist with a +1 +/- rating and 0 penalty minutes.
Andrew Yogan is the only Petes player to head to the post season and Calder Cup playoffs with the New York Rangers affiliate Conneticut Whale. Although suffering from a high ankle sprain, Yogan was limited to just 4 games with the Whale recording 15 penalty minutes with a -1 +/- rating.
Mathers, Puempel and Quine are all expected to return to the Petes for the 2012-13 season while Yogan will graduate to the professional ranks after signing an NHL Entry Level Contract in late March.
