Petes beat 67’s to start weekend strong

The Peterborough Petes beat the Ottawa 67’s 4-2 on a three point night by Zach Bogosian.

The 67’s opened the scoring when Brett Valliquette wrapped a puck around the net under Trevor Cann at 1:09 of the first period. Bogosian got the Petes on the board at 15:51 when he pinched in from the point to jump on a lose puck for his tenth of the season. John Armstrong gave the Petes their first lead of the game less than a minute later when he converted Bogosian’s pass at 16:35.

The Petes took a 3-1 lead when Branislav Rehus deposited another Bogosian centering pass at 11:57 of the second period. Adam Zamec cut the Petes lead to one goal again when he beat Cann at 17:01.

The game looked to be going down as a 3-2 Petes win until Pat Daley scored his 22nd goal of the season in his first game back from a shoulder injury into the empty net at 19:32 of the third to make the final 4-2 for the Petes.

Next action for the Petes is a western Ontario and Michigan road trip to London and Plymotuh on Friday and Saturday before returning home to face the Niagara IceDogs on Thursday.
