Mike Ricci (1987-1990)
Mike was a fan favourite while with the maroon and white and for good reasons, as he topped the 100 point plateau in two of his three seasons with the Petes. Drafted 4th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, he immediately jumped into the Flyers NHL lineup for two seasons before being traded to the Quebec Nordiques in the legendary Eric Lindros trade. After three seasons in Quebec, Mark relocated along with the Nordiques franchise to become the Colorado Avalanche. He won a Stanley Cup in 1996 with the Avalanche in the franchise’s first season in Colorado. He was traded to the San Jose Sharks after the beginning of the 97/98 season and played seven seasons with the San Jose Sharks. He played out the final two seasons of his career as a Coyote in Phoenix and then retired in 2007. He rejoined the Sharks as an advisor for the team and still holds the franchise’s record for consecutive games played (228).
