Battalion double Petes 4-2

The Peterborough Petes put in a hard fought battle at the Memorial Centre tonight only to fall 4-2 to the Brampton Battalion in game #3 of their OHL Eastern Conference Quarter Final Series and now find themselves down 3-0 in the series.

The Petes opened the scoring 4:16 into the first period when Brett Theberge beat Brampton netminder Thomas McCollum unassisted.  Anthony Peluso evened the scored for the Battalion with a power play marker at 7:33 sending the teams to the dressing room tied at one.

The Battalion opened the second period with another powerplay marker just 28 seconds into the period by Evgeny Grachev and Matt Duchene made it 3-1 for the Battalion at 4:37.

The Battalion increased their lead to 3 goals on their third powerplay marker of the game when Matt Kang beat Jason Missiaen at 7:13 on the third.  Pat Daley pulled the Petes within a pair at 15:04 however that was it as the Battalion held on for the 4-2 victory.

Next action for the Petes is Thursday night when they host the Battalion in game #4.
