Petes Look to Keep The Streak Alive Against Ottawa
The Petes will look to keep their four-game winning streak alive on Thursday night as they take on the Ottawa 67’s at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. Peterborough’s currently on a four-game winning streak, with wins over Oshawa (7-1), Owen Sound (5-4), Hamilton (4-2) and Barrie (6-3), while the 67’s are on a two-game winning streak, with wins over Kingston (4-3) and Barrie (3-1).
The Petes are still six points ahead of the Generals for first place in the Eastern Conference, with six games remaining in the season. The two teams will play each other one more time in the Petes’ season finale on March. 19 in Oshawa. The Generals are in action on Friday when they take on the 67’s.
Thursday’s match-up will be the second last game the Petes will play at home this season, with the final home game of the regular season on March 16 against the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Tonight’s match-up to watch features Artur Tyanulin of the 67’s and Steven Lorentz of the Petes. Tyanulin is the leading scorer for the 67’s and is first in scoring for Ottawa by 19 points. In the last 10 games, Tyanulin has recorded 15 points. Lorentz is having a season to remember, recording 57 points in 61 games this season. His 57 points is a career best, topping his 48 points he recorded last season with the Petes. Lorentz is a member of the Carolina Hurricanes and was drafted in the seventh round (186th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft. “Lorry” is second in points for his Peterborough Petes, behind defenceman Matt Timms and forward Nikita Korostelev who both have 61 points on the season. Korostelev has been out with a lower-body injury since Feb. 20 and has missed six games over that span.
Thursday’s game will feature “Hockey 4 Heart” in support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation and will include a silent auction and toques and hand warmers for sale. The first intermission will acknowledge five survivors, while the second intermission will feature an Anden Kitchen & Bath chuck-a-puck. Prizes for the chuck-a-puck winners include two Petes tickets, a $50 Petes Store Gift Certificate, a $100 Wal-Mart Gift Card and more (prizes subject to change). The National Anthem will be sung by Jessica Marghella.
