Rob Murray (1984-1987)
Rob played three seasons with the Petes beginning in 1984. He was drafted by the Washington Capitals 61st overall in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. He played in the Capitals minor league system after moving on from the Petes and broke into the NHL with Washington for 41 game in 1989-90. Between 1990 and 2003, Rob would go on to have a very successful AHL career playing for various teams including Baltimore, Moncton, Springfield, Hamilton, Saint Johns and Philadelphia. During those 13 years, he also saw playing time with various NHL clubs amounting 107 games played. Those teams include Washington, Winnipeg and Phoenix. After he retired as a player, Rob began coaching the Providence Bruins of the AHL for 8 seasons starting in 2003. He saw five years as an assistant coach and 3 years as the head coach. Currently has been the head coach of the Alaska Aces of the ECHL since 2011.
