Connor McDavid named OHL Player of the Month
Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced the Top OHL Performers of the Month for February 2015, including forward Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds defenceman Anthony DeAngelo and goaltender Brandon Halverson, and rookie Logan Brown of the Windsor Spitfires.
OHL Player of the Month – Connor McDavid (Erie Otters):
Erie Otters forward Connor McDavid is the OHL Player of the Month for February after he recorded 13 goals, 20 assists and 32 points with a plus-minus rating of plus-9 in 12 games as part of a current 24-game point streak that dates back to November 7. McDavid’s month featured 10 multi-point games including his first career OHL hat-trick when he posted a career-high six points against Guelph on February 25. A goal and an assist on February 27 in Owen Sound made him the fourth player this season to reach the 100-point mark, needing just 38 games to accomplish the feat.
The top prospect for the 2015 NHL Draft, McDavid continues to turn heads this season with 37 goals, 65 assists, 102 points and a plus-minus rating of plus-46 in 39 games. In addition to his outstanding play in the OHL this season, the Newmarket, ON, native won gold with the Canadian National Junior Team, scoring three goals and eight assists in seven tournament games. McDavid also suited up for Team Orr in the 2015 BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game on January 22, picking up an assist and a plus-minus rating of plus-3 in a 6-0 win.
