Erie, Pennsylvania – It is good to be back! After a much-needed Holiday Break, the Erie Otters are ready to take to the ice!
The Erie Insurance Arena will be back in business on Saturday night when the Guelph Storm rolls into town. After a 7-4 loss in early November, the Otters will be looking to make things right and get the second half of the season off to a good start.

In their only game before Holiday Break, the Otters fell to the London Knights at home with a final score of 6-1.
A HISTORIC NIGHT
The Otters will celebrate 60 Years of Hockey Hist-Erie (pres. by Stairways Behavioral Health) on Saturday night! Four high-level hockey teams have found a home in the flagship city and we invite you to celebrate our rich hockey history with us. The first 1500 fans to enter the arena will receive a FREE Mini-Replica Banner, but Rubber Ducky Balloon Design’s specialty balloon and light display are for all!
WHO TO WATCH
With Carey Terrance and Matthew Schaefer off representing Team USA and Team Canada at the World Junior Championship, it’s up to Sam Alfano and Malcolm Spence to hold down the fort. Both Alfano and Spence have 37 points on the season – Alfano leading with 17 goals and 10 assists to Spence’s 15 goals and 12 assists. In the final stretch of the season with the new year visible on the horizon, the third-year Otters are ready to push this team to bigger and better things.
KNOW THE FOE
The Guelph Storm won their last game before the holiday break, beating the Soo Greyhounds 6-4. Players to watch for the Storm include Noah Jenken, who scored twice against the Hounds, and Max Namestnikov, who put up one goal and one assist before break.

UP NEXT
The Otters will send off 2024 in proper fashion: with a New Year’s Eve hockey game! They’ll battle the Brantford Bulldogs on the final day of 2024 with a 6 P.M. puck drop. After hopefully bringing their first win into 2025, the Otters will travel to Kitchener to play their divisional rivals for the first time in the new year.
