EC3 WEEKEND PREVIEW: Otters on the Attack!
Erie, Pennsylvania – Can you smell it in the air? It’s a two-game series this weekend against the Owen Sound Attack as the Erie Otters look to clinch their Ontario Hockey League playoff berth.
The Otters first will face the Attack on Saturday with a 7 P.M. puck drop before seeing them again the very next day in the final afternoon game of the regular season.
FREE TUITION IS IN BLOOM
The new class of EC3 was welcomed with free Tuition in October – but now is the time to look ahead to the Spring Session!
With flexible online and in-person educational opportunities all across Erie County, EC3 is working to educate around your schedule. If you’ve ever asked yourself “Is an associate’s degree or certificate worth it?” — the answer is a resounding “yes!” Whether your goal is to increase your employable skills in the short term or build toward a more advanced degree in the long term, an associate’s degree or certificates can serve as a stepping stone both academically and professionally.
It’s not too early to apply! For more information on Erie County Community College of Pennsylvania – including their free Spring Tuition – head to EC3PA.org.
LAST TIME OUT
It was a perfect week on the road for the Otters, with the team taking home six points from their three wins on the Eastern Swing.
The victory train for Erie first stopped at Peterborough, where the Otters saw out a 4-2 win before they rolled through Kingston after losing to the Frontenacs on home ice in the week prior. Out for revenge, the Otters grabbed a 5-3 victory. To finish the week off, the Otters faced the Ottawa 67’s, where they clawed out a 6-5 win over the home team.
Erie’s special teams went 15/16 in penalty kills on the weekend and were able to net four power-play goals of their own, rendering them both an unstoppable force and an immovable object.

WHO TO WATCH
Sam Alfano and Carey Terrance both had five-point weekends in their trips to familiar territory.
The Big Rig put up four goals and one assist in the Otters’ last three road games, including two game-winners. Three of Alfano’s goals came from an Erie power play, and his singular assist was to Pano Fimis for the game-winner against the Ottawa 67’s.
Carey Terrance, inversely to Alfano, had one goal and four assists in the three-game week. His only goal was an insurance goal against the Peterborough Petes, and he put up a pair of assists in both games against the Frontenacs and the 67’s.
KNOW THE FOE
The Owen Sound Attack are on a four-game losing streak after Wednesday’s 5-1 loss to the Kitchener Rangers. A divisional foe, the Attack currently sit one point below the Otters, with 60 points to Erie’s 61. Players to watch for the Attack include Deni Gore, with two goals and three assists in his last four games, and Ethan Burroughs, who had one goal and two assists in his last four games as well.
