Williamson Health Update

The Niagara IceDogs would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and concerns over the past weeks regarding Head Coach and General Manager Marty Williamson. With that in mind, we would like to provide an update on Marty’s health at this time.

Marty underwent surgery this past Wednesday to correct a heart issue. The aneurism was larger than expected, which led to extra surgery being required, taking approximately 6 hours. The positive from the surgery was that they were able to save the valve. Despite the long surgery and a difficult first 48 hours, Marty’s hard work and determination got him back on track quickly.

Marty was sitting in a chair and walking by Sunday and is happy to report that after making it home this afternoon, he has showered, shaved and feels like a new man!

The entire IceDogs organization wishes Marty all the best as he continues his recovery and look forward to seeing him back at the rink soon!
