IceDogs Select Ben Jones 7th Overall
With the 7th overall selection, the Niagara IceDogs are pleased to select Ben Jones from the Toronto Marlies.
The 6’0″, 167 lbs centre posted 69 points in 74 games this season for the Marlies this season.
Jones is a big centre who can score goals. He’s a good skater and handles the puck well. He has good vision and uses his teammates well. Jones has a good hard shot that he can get off quickly and accurately. He becomes a very dangerous player when he’s within 15 feet of the net. He’s not an overly physical player but will go into the dirty areas to get the puck. He will also play the man and works hard in the corners. Jones uses his points well when he has the puck in the corner.
